Did you set a budget before anything else?
Yes, this was very important to us and we always wanted to ensure we didn’t lose sight of it.

Yes. Although having never planned a wedding before we really didn’t have a clue what our budget should be. We set our (optimistic) budget early on, and soon realised that was totally unrealistic! We then re worked it based on some more in depth research of vendors/pricing. Sticking to our budget was really important to us, so at the start of the planning process we sat down together and decided on what elements of the wedding were really important to us and what elements we were happy save on or cut out all together.
